Srinagar-Jammu National Highway open for 2-way traffic

Srinagar: Authorities on Wednesday restored the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway after it remained closed for two days due to multiple landslides at various locations between Nashri and Banihal.

A traffic official told News Agency Kashmir Scroll that after the improvement in weather conditions, authorities pressed men and machinery to work at several locations to clear the debris and restore traffic. He said that LMVs (passenger) were plying both ways on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway, with slow movement between Nashri and Banihal due to poor road conditions and the movement of nomadic flocks.

The official also advised commuters to follow lane discipline, as overtaking would lead to congestion.
