Shift wine shop at Pantha Chowk to some tourist place: Altaf Thakur 

Says wine shops at public places have hurt sentiments  of people

Srinagar, May 9:Senior BJP leader and the party’s JK spokesman Altaf Thakur today expressed his serious concern over the opening of wine shop at Pantha Chowk,  Srinagar stating the place has a school nearby, a masjjd, a Tehsil office and a police station. He said that the it is not feasible at all to open wine shop at a public place.
Thakur urged the excise department and the JK administration to shift the wine shop from Pantha Chowk to some other place preferably  at a tourist place.
He said if the shop is for tourists, Pantha Chowk is not a tourist place and hence the wine shop be opened at a tourist destination. He said  opening the wine shop at Pantha Chowk has hurt the sentiments of people living in the vicinity. Thakur said Kashmir  is a conservative society and opening wine shops at public places can disrupt the peaceful atmosphere. He demanded immediate shifting  of the shop.
