Weekly review meeting was today chaired by Commissioner SMC

Srinagar, May 9 :A weekly  review  meeting  was today chaired by Commissioner SMC Athar Aamir on Enforcement, Sanitation , Building Permissions and Revenue.
He reviewed the progress on waste management initiatives, curbing polythene use ,addressing grievance on sanitation and checking the status of construction sites.
A major review was also taken on Status of Building Permission cases where in Athar passed on directions to speed up with the pending cases and where ever NOCs are pending accordingly applicants should be informed.
Public grievance regarding sanitation  issues for  improvisation of sanitation  and door to door waste collection was also reviewed and  discussed at length.
During the course of meeting status of collection of user charges was also reviewed. Ward Officers were directed to improve the overall collection of waste.
Commissioner has also passed on directions to the concerned  to go for Night sweeping and  in this regard all the required logistic support shall be provided for conducting night sweeping drives.
On Enforcement the concerned officials who were present in the meeting were directed to intensify with the daily site checks and see whether the structures coming up are in accordance with the permission or not.
In this regard Commissioner SMC gave clear cut instructions that no illegal construction of any sort in any of the ward within the city will be tolerated.
Athar reiterated that follow up of complaints with regard to illegal constructions, demolitions conducted and sanitation issues from public needs to be addressed and monitored from time to time.
If there is a written complaint regarding any illegal construction that has been redressed timely it is the duty of that  concerned official/ officer to go for further follow up by revisiting the site to  cross check the status of the same said Athar.
Athar  reviewed status of Anti polythene  drives ward wise and passed on directions to all the Ward Officers to conduct regular Anti Polythene Drives and polythene checking .
Emphasis was laid on curbing the use of polythene and  violators to be fined on using polythene.
He directed them to submit weekly status report on Anti polythene initiatives.
During the course of meeting status of Daily progress of   user charges , sanitation  for residential and commercial was also reviewed.
Ward Officers were directed to improve the overall collection of waste.
Besides Joint Commissioner SMC Syed Abul Qasim, Joint Commissioner Planning Ghulam Hassan Mir, Secretary SMC Mudasir Chaudhary, Chief Enforcement Officer Suhail Chintsaz ,Chief Sanitation Officer Nazir Ahmed Baba and other officers including ward officers , sanitation officers and Enforcement Officers attended the meeting.
