Commissioner SMC suspends two ward officers for ‘negligence’

Srinagar, July 6, KNT: Two Ward Officers have been suspended for facilitating illegal structures in their wards here in Kashmir capital Srinagar.

Sources told news agency Kashmir News Trust that after report poured in about the illegal structures being coming up in Magarmal Bagh, Lawaypora and Mujhgund areas, Commissioner Srinagar Municipal Corporation suspended Ward Officer Lawaypora and Magarmal and attached both these officers with the Sanitation Officer of SMC.

“These two ward officers were suspended for negligence and dereliction of duties,” said an official adding that illegal structures in various areas were demolished without any delay.

“The commissioner SMC has made it clear that illegal construction would not be allowed at any cost.” (KNT)
