*Schools reopen for classes 8th to 12 for students in Kashmir*

Srinagar, Mar 1 : Most of the students from 9th to 12th standard on Monday attended schools in Kashmir Valley amid COVID-19 protocol.
The schools are opening in staggered manner and many schools have applied an odd-even formula which entails having only 50% of students on campus on any given day.
Teachers of the elementary classes (up to class 8) have been asked to attend the schools from March 1 for preparation while students shall physically attend the classes from March 8, an official told GNS.
Last week, colleges opened in Kashmir more than 11 months after the outbreak of Covid-19 pandemic that had prompted closure of educational institutions across the valley.
Even before the covid-19 forced their closure, the educational institutes remained closed for nearly a year on account of the security and communication clampdown following the revocation of the Article 370 on 5 August 2019.
The educational institutions reopened in summer zone areas of Jammu last month. While the educational institutes for 9 to 12th had started from February 1, the class work for the students of classes 1 to 8 resumed a week later.
In the revised guidelines on COVID containment measures issued in January this year, the administration had allowed schools, colleges, higher educational institutions, technical or skill development institutions to reopen from February 1.
The government has time and again stressed that the notified Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) guidelines shall remain unaltered and shall be followed in “letter and spirit”. (GNS)

TSIA & CSS Corp Co- Author a Report on Outsourcing Trends in 2021

0

Kolkata, Feb 26 : CSS Corp, a new-age IT services and technology support company
in association with The Technology Services Industry Association (TSIA), has released a
co-authored report named ‘2021 Trends in Outsourcing’.
The report uncovers two major 2021 trends in outsourcing- increase in outsourcing contracts
and service providers creating sophisticated digital capabilities’ businesses to meet the needs
of enterprise customers.
The first key trend predicts an increase in outsourcing contracts this year, as many companies
were grappling with their business continuity plan due to several reasons like lack of infrastructure
and inability to transition to 100% work-at-home model. The second key trend focuses on how
service providers have begun creating separate business units to make digital capabilities easily available to meet the requirements of large enterprise customers.
Leading service providers have made great advances in sophisticated digital capabilities,
including artificial intelligence and robotic process automation. This has led them to identify opportunities to effectively scale operations and accelerate development of digital expertise
in support functions across enterprise customers.
The report highlights the trends and patterns that are going to be mainstream in support
outsourcing in 2021 and how enterprises can leverage the right digital support partner. It
showcases how the outsourcing value proposition has evolved in areas such as near-shore
outsourcing, outsourcing of non-traditional functions like sales that form a significant portion
of costs in XaaS companies and the rise of outcome-based commercial models.
It also talks about how outsourcing can enable organizations to expand into new geographies.
The pandemic has ushered in an era of work-from-anywhere which has further dwindled location dependencies and provided a fillip to remote operations.
John Ragsdale, Distinguished Vice President, Technology Research, TSIA, said, “Technology companies are increasingly forming strategic relationships with outsourcers to not only help scale support operations cost-effectively and guarantee a high-quality customer experience, but also to accelerate digital transformation. 2021 will see this trend amplify further and service providers like
CSS Corp are well placed to emerge as strong outsourcing partners for technology organizations.”
“The Covid-19 crisis has emphasized the need to adopt digital technologies to build agility and resilience in the organization’s operations. Technology service providers like CSS Corp, have
deep industry expertise in enabling business transformation for its customers and driving impact
by blending human ingenuity with cutting-edge intelligent technology tools. As organizations look
to strategize in a post-Covid business environment, it will be critical for them to strengthen their
core capabilities while partnering with apt service providers to help them in their digital journeys,
driving innovation and creating better experiences for customers.” said Sunil Mittal, Executive
Vice President, CSS Corp.
Prioritizing technology innovation in response to a rapidly changing world has never been more important. The ‘2021 Trends in Outsourcing’ report is a useful tool for companies wanting to rapidly accelerate their digital automation journey with insights on effectively partnering with technology
service providers to leverage their full potential.

Pink-ball Test: India all-out for 145 at tea against Eng, Root picks first ever fifer

0

Ahmedabad, Feb 25:  India were bowled out for 145 in their first innings on the second day of the Pink Ball Test against England as Joe Root (5/8) picked up his first ever fifer, here on Thursday.
After wrapping up England’s innings at 112 and ending the opening day at 99 for 3, India resumed with Rohit Sharma and Ajinkya Rahane and the crowd at Motera expected the hosts to put up a good score on the board.
But things didn’t go according to plan for India as England spinners Joe Root and Jack Leach orchestrated a well laid collapse for the hosts. Jack Leach, England’s only recognised spinner in the playing XI, sent back Rahane and Rohit to nullify India’s advantage.
However, India still had a long tail and the dangerous Rishabh Pant still to fire. But, things changed drastically when England captain Joe Root introduced himself in the bowling attack.
Root on his first delivery sent back the dangerous Pant. He then dismissed Washington Sundar and Axar Patel in quick succession to bring England right back in the match.
Ravichandran Ashwin showed some fight to score 17 runs to extend India’s lead past the 20-run mark but got out to Root while trying to do counter-attack.
Ishant Sharma hit a big six off the bowling of Jack Leach to take the lead beyond 30 runs. But, Root picked up the last wicket of Jasprit Bumrah to claim his maiden five-for in Test cricket.
India were bowled out for 145 at the end of the first session and had a first innings lead of mere 33 runs.
Brief Scores: England 1st Innings: 112 all out India 1st Innings: 145 all out in 53.2 overs (Rohit Sharma 66, Virat Kohli 27; Jack Leach 4/54, Joe Root 5/8).
