Slogans battles begin in Bengal as ECI announced eight-phase poll for 294 seats

Kolkata, Feb 27: Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee’s election

strategist Prasant Kishor on Saturday claimed that one of the key

battles for democracy in India will be fought in West Bengal and

people here are ready with their message ” Bangla Nijer Meyekei

Chay”, while opposition BJP launched a counter poster saying “Bengal

Wants Its Daughter, Not Pishi”.

Prasant Kishor, who is managing the All India Trinamool Congress

campaign on his Twitter account said the people of West Bengal

are determined to show the right card ” Bangla Nijer Meyekei Chay”

(Bengal only wants its daughter).

To counter TMC slogan, the BJP’s poster says, “Bengal Wants Its

Own Daughter, Not Pishi” and has the nine faces of the party’s

female leaders in Bengal.

The poster has the faces of BJP leaders including Rupa Ganguly,

Deboshree Chaudhary, Locket Chatterjee, Bharti Ghosh, Agnimitra

Paul, Mafuja Khatoon among others.
