Heavy Stone Pelting At Government Degree College, Pulwama

 Students Demand Release of Detained Student from Lelhara, Pulwama

Pulwama, Mar 31: After a long spell of silence and a significant decrease in stone pelting incidents, heavy stone pelting took place at Government Degree College in South Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Wednesday

Meanwhile whole college was in a state of chaos when a group of policemen on examination duty were targeted by stone-pelting students from all sides.

According to eyewitnesses, the Stone-Pelters hurled stones at the police from several directions at the same time. Tear gas shells and batons were used to disperse them.

A Senior Police official while confirming the incident to CNS said, “The situation is calm at the moment and more troops are deployed to avert any untoward incident”.

Meanwhile the sources privy to CNS said that the protesting students are demanding the release of the college student namely Imtiyaz Ahmad from Lelhara, Kakpora area of Pulwama district. (CNS)
