Police Launches Drug Awareness Drive at Srinagar’s Ghanta Ghar

Srinagar: Srinagar Police in collaboration with the NGO ‘SACPP’ conducted an awareness programme at Ghanta Ghar Srinagar, focusing on the menace of drugs and the preventive measures, thereof.
The event was led by SDPO Kothibagh and SHO Maisuma.
The programme aimed to educate and mobilize the community against the scourge of substance abuse and remedial measures to overcome this challenge.

The programme commenced with flagging off of a ‘Jingle Truck,’ designed to roam the city, broadcasting messages on the dangers of drug use. Informative pamphlets were distributed among attendees, providing insights into recognizing drug use, understanding the health risks, and knowing where to seek help.

An interactive session with the media followed, offering a platform for discussion and deliberation on preventive strategies and the role of the community in combating drug abuse.
The session underscored the importance of media in spreading awareness and shaping public opinion on this critical issue.

The event was not only about raising awareness but also about fostering a collective resolve to tackle substance abuse in the city. The programme marks the beginning of further collaborative efforts aimed at eradicating drug abuse in the district.
