Srinagar: National Conference president Dr Farooq Abdullah Thursday said that Omar Abdullah was chosen as the chairman of the legislature party.

With the endorsement of his party colleagues, Omar now needs to get the letter of support from Congress and meet Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha to stake claim on government formation.

According to KNS, Farooq Abdullah after the meeting at NC headquarters, Nawa-e-Subh complex, Dr Farooq said that in the LP meeting, Omar was unanimously chosen as the chairman.

The nomination for Chairman also means nomination for Chief Ministership, a NC Leader told KNS.
