Omar chosen Chairman Legislature Party: Dr Farooq Abdullah

 

Srinagar: National Conference president Dr Farooq Abdullah Thursday said that Omar Abdullah was chosen as the chairman of the legislature party.

With the endorsement of his party colleagues, Omar now needs to get the letter of support from Congress and meet Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha to stake claim on government formation.

According to KNS, Farooq Abdullah after the meeting at NC headquarters, Nawa-e-Subh complex, Dr Farooq said that in the LP meeting, Omar was unanimously chosen as the chairman.

The nomination for Chairman also means nomination for Chief Ministership, a NC Leader told KNS.

Sources said that NC-Congress may stake claim on government formation by Saturday before Lieutenant Governor.

The meeting also discussed the roadmap and fulfillment of all promises made in the election manifesto, sources said.
