2 Narco Smugglers Arrested in Boniyar; Heroin Worth 2 Crores Seized

Baramulla: Police arrested two drug smugglers in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district  and recovered a contraband substance from their possession.

This development comes four days after they busted a narcotic module with alleged links to Pakistan-based handlers and recovered Heroin-like substances worth Rs. 50 crore.

In a statement, the Police Spokesperson said that the police arrested two  persons and recovered 446 grams of contraband Heroin-like substance (worth approximately Rs. 2 crores) from their possession.The duo were identified as Abdul Qayoom Ganie & Gh Hassan Ganie, sons of Gh Rasool, both residents of Trikanjan Boniyar.

He further stated that they have been  shifted to PS Boniyar, where they remain in custody.

In this regard a case under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Boniyar, and the investigation has been initiated.
