Man from Batamaloo Jumps into River Jhelum At Rajbagh Srinagar, Rescued


Srinagar : A man from Batamaloo was timely rescued after he allegedly attempted suicide by jumping into river Jhelum in Rajbagh area in Srinagar on Sunday night, an official said.

The official told news agency Kashmir Scroll a man (name withheld), resident of Batamaloo Srinagar, allegedly made a suicide bid after jumping into river Jhelum from Zero Bridge at Rajbagh last night.

“A subsequent rescue operation was launched by Srinagar Police alongside locals, which yielded the timely retrieval of the person,” the official said adding, the person was taken to SMHS Hospital for treatment, where his condition is said to be critical – on the filing of this report.
