Crackdown on Militancy Funding: NIA Carries Out Raids at Multiple Locations in Valley

Srinagar: Sleuths of the National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Saturday early morning carried out multiple raids in Kashmir’s parts in connection with a militancy funding case.

Reports reaching the news agency CNS said that the raids were carried out by the sleuths of the probing agency – NIA at different places in south Kashmir and Srinagar likely pertaining to a militancy funding case.

It was said that residences of persons affiliated with outlawed Jamaat-e-Islami (JeI) were raided by the NIA. Houses of two persons including Sheikh Ghulam Hassan son of Saifuddin Sheikh and Sayar Ahmad Reshi son of Mohammad Ramzan, both residents of Kulgam were raided, reports said.

During the raids, the NIA sleuths were accompanied by the local police and CRPF, who stayed on guard outside the targeted places to keep the law and order from disturbing.

However, it could not be ascertained whether the probing agency found anything incriminating in the raids.
