Kishtwar Admin Enforces Speed Limits’ On Vehicles Plying in District


Kishtwar: Kishtwar administration has enforced speed limits on vehicles in the backdrop of spate of road mishaps witnessed in the region.

General public of Kishtwar, Transport Unions and Drivers operating within the District Kishtwar are hereby informed and directed to comply with the directions issued by Traffic Police HQ vide order number 92 of 2016, Dated 31-03-2016 (vide letter no: THQ/GB/ML/10-4009-20 Dated 31-04-2016) regarding the speed limit in the State of J&K”, reads a notification in this regard, a copy of which lies with GNS.

The maximum speed limit for the District Kishtwar, as per the notification is, Passenger Service Vehicles (PSVs) 35 km/h each for Light vehicles including auto rickshaws, Medium vehicles and heavy vehicles.

On the other hand, speed limits for Goods Carrier Vehicles for Light, Medium and Heavy vehicles is 30km/h and 45km/h for Non-commercial vehicles.

“Any violation in this regard shall attract penal action under relevant sections of the law”, reads the notification further.
