IED Inside Tiffin Box With Timer Found On NHW In Jammu: Police

Jammu: Police on Saturday claimed to have seized a tiffin box timer based Improvised Explosive Device (IED) in Jammu district.

In a handout to GNS, the police said that on Saturday at around 05:30 PM, an information was received by police that some suspicious object is lying on Sidhra Narwal highway stretch in Jammu near a police checkpoint.

The police spokesman further stated that over this, police said, a team of police alongwith Police Component Jammu, Dog squad rushed to the spot and on search of suspicious material, it was found to be a Tiffin Box timer based IED weighing around two kilograms was found which has now been taken into possession after successful detonation.

A case under relevant sections of law have been registered in police station and further investigation is going on. More updates will be shared accordingly, reads the statement.(GNS)
