DDC Chairperson Ganderbal visits Kheer Bhawani Shrine Tullamulla

Inspects arrangements for Annual mela

Ganderbal, May 16: The Chairperson, District Development Council (DDC) Ganderbal, Nuzhat Ishfaq today visited Kheer Bhawani Shrine, Tullamulla and convened a meeting to review arrangements for annual Kheer Bhawani Mela.

During the visit, the DDC Chairperson was accompanied by ADDC Ganderbal, Mushtaq Ahmad Simnani, ACD, ACP besides other officers from District Administration and police.

The DDC Chairperson visited around the temple and took stock of arrangements put in place. She directed the officers concerned and representatives of Dharmarth Trust to ensure that the devotees coming to pay obeisance are provided with requisite facilities and foolproof mechanism should be put in place to ensure smooth conduct of this Mela.

Threadbare discussions were held on lodging, bedding, lighting, sanitation, barricading, establishment of joint control room, health facilities, parking of vehicles, fool-proof security, and availability of essential commodities and general face-lifting in and around the temple.

Nuzhat Ishfaq directed the departments concerned for making necessary arrangements for uninterrupted power and drinking water supplies, transport, security, fire tenders, ration, accommodation, medical facilities, macadamization of roads and other related arrangements at the temple.

The Municipality officials were directed to start intensive sanitation drives within as well as approaching road stretch to the temple prior to the Mela, besides installing dustbins at appropriate places within the premises and market.

She stressed on the concerned authorities to be proactive and make every possible effort for smooth conduct of the Mela.
