DC Srinagar reviews measures for beautification of Dal-Boulevard Road Axis

Srinagar, April 12: In order to review the steps being taken for beautification of Boulevard road, the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Srinagar, Mohammad Aijaz Asad today convened a meeting of all the concerned agencies.

Pertinent to mention that Chief Secretary Jammu and Kashmir Shri Arun Kumar Mehta had visited the Dal Lake area and issued instructions for giving a better look to the Boulevard Road area which is frequented by the  Tourists every day.

During the meeting DC reviewed steps taken so far regarding removal of encroachments, shifting of utilities and beautification on Boulevard Road from Dalgate.

On the occasion, the DC directed the officers of all line departments to work in synergy and in unison in implementation of the directions issued.

The DC directed the officers to ensure removal of all wild growth and bushes along Boulevard road from Dalgate. He also asked the SDM to issue notices to the property owners regarding removal of public nuisance along the road sides.

The KPDCL authorities were asked to remove unused electric poles along the road besides undertaking proper alignment of electric transmission and supply lines.

The DC also directed the concerned to beautify the patch of land near Nehru Park under Srinagar Smart City project. He also asked to develop a uniform prototype for display boards.

The DC asked the Revenue authorities to ensure removal of all roadside encroachments in the area and face lifting of the roadside boundaries of all the properties along Boulevard to give aesthetic look to the area thereby further enhancing the natural scenic beauty of the area.

Superintendent Engineer, R&B, Chief Planning Officer, Joint Commissioner SMC, Executive Engineer, KPDCL, SDM East, DFO Urban, Enforcement Officer, LCMA, Tehsildar Khanyar and other officers from Tourism, UEED and other concerned Departments attended the meeting.
