Dr Sehrish reviews functioning of colleges under RUSA

Srinagar, April 5: Mission Director, Rashtriya Uchchtar Shiksha Abhiyan (RUSA), Dr Syed Sehrish Asgar, today chaired a meeting to review physical and financial status of various projects being taken up under RUSA 1.0 and 2.0.

Principals of Degree College Singhpora, Pattan, Baramulla, Vilgam and Handwara, GCET Safapora, GDC Kangan, SE R&B Circle Baramulla and Kupwara, Executive Engineer R&B Division, Baramulla, Handwara and Ganderbal besides other officials of RUSA were present during the meeting.

Threadbare discussion was held on various projects currently being implemented under RUSA scheme.

Assessing progress on projects, Dr Sehrish expressed dismay over slow pace of work in some of the institutions. She asked the heads of institutions and executing agencies to expedite work on all ongoing projects in these institutions for time bound completion. She also called for proper management and maintenance of infrastructure facilitating its proper usage.

Dr Sehrish stressed upon the officials to ensure completion of pending works under RUSA on priority basis so that the academic session for the students is not hampered in any way.

She stressed upon coordination between executing agencies and the principals of different colleges for smooth execution of development works there. She asked the concerned to ensure timely submission of Utilization Certificates.
