3 WS schemes costing Rs.11 crore inaugurated at Kupwara 

Kupwara, Mar 26: The District Development Commissioner (DDC) Kupwara, Imam Din and Chief Engineer (CE) PHE Kashmir, Er. Basharat Jeelani Kawoosa jointly inaugurated three Water Supply Schemes (WSS) costing Rs.11 crore in Kupwara district, here today.

The DDC Kupwara and the Chief Engineer today jointly inaugurated the Water Supply Scheme at Drugmulla in presence of BDC Chairperson, PRIs and concerned officers.

On the occasion, it was informed that the water supply scheme was long pending demand of the people which was fulfilled today. The water supply scheme costing Rs.251.59 lakh will provide drinking water facility to 15617 souls of Drugmulla area.

The DDC Kupwara and Chief Engineer also inaugurated water supply scheme Shisher Mari Wadder in Hirri Qadirabad. The water supply scheme costing Rs.399.37 lakh will provide water supply to 5020 souls in the area.

Later, the DDC Kupwara and Chief Engineer visited Kanthpora Lolab and inaugurated water supply scheme Kanthpora-Doniwari in presence of DDC Member Sogam, Nasir Ahmad; DDC Member Hyhama, Sonaullah Khan, SDM Sogam,  PRIs and concerned officers.

On the occasion, it was informed that the water supply scheme was completed at a cost of Rs. 450.43 lakh which will benefit 2513 souls of the area.

Speaking on the occasion, the dignitaries addressed the public gathering and assured that all households shall be provided potable water supply under Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM).
