Kulgam Police arrested three drug peddlers and recovered contraband substance  

Kulgam, Mar 23: Continuing unwavering efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society; Kulgam Police arrested three drug peddlers and recovered Huge Quantity of contraband substance from their possession.
Today, Police party of Police Station Kulgam established a naka at chatabal crossing and during checking one vehicle bearing registration NO PB10GZ-3462 was intercepted. Going through checking of the vehicle 2 gunny bags containing Poppy Straw like substance weighing 17 Kg were recovered from the possession of drug peddlers namely, Bidh Singh S/O Balbir Singh R/O Ludhiana Punjab (Driver) and Manjeet Singh S/O Nirmal Singh R/O Nawa Shahar Punjab. Both the accused were arrested and vehicle used in commission of crime was seized. Regarding the incident, Case with FIR No 37/2022 U/S 8/21, 29 NDPS Act has been registered in Police Station Kulgam and investigation has been initiated.
Similarly, another Naka at Yamrach was established by the Police party of Police Station Behibagh and a vehicle (Motorcycle) bearing registration number JK05-7926 driven by Imtiyaz Ahmad Palla S/O Abdul Ahad Palla R/O Reban, Shopian and carrying a gunny bag was intercepted. Going through checking 16Kg of Poppy Straw like substance was recovered. The said drug peddler was arrested and vehicle used in commission of crime was seized. Regarding the incident, Case with FIR No. 12/2022 U/S 8/15 NDPS Act was registered in Police Station Behibagh and investigation is in progress.
General public are requested to come forward and join hands to support Police so that we together can uproot the evil of Drug menace and other anti-social activities from the society and also timely action will be taken against the offenders.
