Mah: 5 killed, 14 injured as tempo collides with tractor in Aurangabad distt

Aurangabad, Dec 30 : Five members of a family were killed and fourteen others injured, when the tempo in which they were travelling collided with a stationary tractor carrying sugarcane near Monda phata on Sillod-Baradi Road in the district in the wee hours on Thursday.

The incident occurred around 0200 hrs, 70 km from Aurangabad, when the people in the tempo was proceeding towards Mangrul village after attending a marriage ceremony at Ghatshendra when it rammed into the standing tractor.

The collision was so severe, that it killed the five people on the spot and injuring 14v otherts, the report said.

The deceased were identified as Jijabai Kelvane(60), Sanjay Kelvane(42), Sangita Kelvane(35), Laxmibai Kelvane(45) and Ashok Kelvane (52) hailing from Mangrul village.

Among the injured, nine are said to be in critical condition and were shifted to the Aurangabad government hospital and five others are being treated at sub district hospital at Sillod, the report said.
