Sensex improves 42.75 points

Mumbai, Dec 30: The BSE Sensex on Thursday improved 42.75 points to 57,849.06 following gains of IT, Telecom and Technology stocks.The Nifty too rose by 8 points to 17,221.70.

The Sensex registered the days high and low at 57,851.64 and 57,578.99 points respectively.The Nifty registered the days high and low at 17,223.15 and 17,146.35 points respectively.

The Mid Cap fell by 0.13 per cent while Small Cap was up by 0.33 per cent.In 30 scrips, 15 advanced while 15 declined.

The gainers were Wipro by 1.34 per cent to Rs 712.80, Tech Mahindra by 0.92 per cent to Rs 1803, HCL Technology by 0.86 per cent to Rs 1303.10, Powergrid by 0.78 per cent to Rs 205.95 and Dr Reddy’s Lab by 0.66 per cent to Rs 4862.25.
The losers were Bajaj Finserv by 1.51 per cent to Rs 15,996.20, Sun Pharma by 0.37 per cent to Rs 835.20, L& T by 0.38 per cent to Rs 1885.15 and SBI by 0.32 per cent to Rs 452.80.
