BJP J&K spokesman Altaf Thakur expresses gratitude to LG Sinha for ordering Magisterial Probe

Says Govt committed to ensure justice; hails UT administration for allowing exhumation of bodies, handing them over to families for last rites

Srinagar, Nov 19: Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) JK spokesman Altaf Thakur expressed gratitude to Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha for ordering a magisterial inquiry into the Hyderpora encounter stating that the government is committed to ensure justice if any wrong is done.

He also hailed the LG led administration for allowing the exhumation of bodies of Altaf Ahmed Bhat and Dr Mudasir Gul and handing them over to their families for last rites.

In a statement issued here, Thakur said that LG Sinha led administration is committed to transparent probe into the Hyderpora encounter and that’s why a magisterial probe has already been ordered to find out the reality. “The probe was ordered well in time and an ADC level officer will investigate the circumstances and sequences of the events. As already stated by the LG that the government is committed to ensure justice is done,” he said.

He said that it was worth hailing that the LG led administration also allowed the exhumation of bodies of building owner Altaf Ahmed Bhat and Dr Mudasir Gul from Handwara graveyard for handing them over to their families in Srinagar for last rites. Thakur said that reflects the government’s commitment for upholding human rights and respecting the sentiments of people of Kashmir.
