Bovines Stolen from 5 Households in Shopian

Locals Decry Inaction from Authorities

 

Shopian, Oct 28: At least ten cows from five households were stolen during the intervening Wednesday and Thursday night in this south Kashmir district.

Reports reaching GNS said that incidents took place at Sofipora village of the district.

The affected families have been identified as Ghulam Hussain Bhat, Abdul Hamid Khan, Abdul Hamid Mir and Sheeraz Ahmad Mir.

The locals told GNS that such incidents have been taking place in the different villages of the district for several months now. “Despite frequent incidents, we are however yet to see any significant action being taken by the authorities to curb the activity”, a local wishing anonymity said. (GNS)
