2 sharp shooters shot dead in encounter with UP STF in Lucknow

Lucknow, Oct 28 (UNI) Two dreaded sharp shooters, involved in the murder of a BJP leader in Ranchi (Jharkhand) recently, were shot dead in an encounter with Special Task Force(STF) of Uttar Pradesh police in the state capital.

Both the criminals , native of Azamgarh , were critically injured in the encounter which took place on Wednesday night but during treatment died early Thursday morning.

The encounter took place in Madiyaon police station area in the state capital at around 2000 hrs on Wednesday.

Additional Superintendent of police said a sharpshooter of IS 191 gang , a professional sharp shooter , who has a reward of Rs one lakh Ali Sher alias doctor and his accomplice Bannu alias Kaamran got injured in an exchange of fire with the STF.

STF has recovered one carbine, 30 mm, 2 pistols, a country-made pistol, several round of cartridges and a motorcycle from the injured criminals.

STF sources revealed that the criminals were conspiring to kill a trader leader in the state capital when they were tracked by the police.

Recently, Alisher murdered a Senior BJP leader and district BJP ST Morcha president Jeet Ram Munda in Ranchi on September 22 last.
