Sakina Itoo, Waheed Para clash in J&K assembly over PDP blame

Jammu, Apr 04: The Jammu and Kashmir Assembly witnessed an uproar on Saturday as a sharp exchange broke out between Cabinet Minister Sakina Itoo and PDP legislator Waheed Para during proceedings.

The confrontation, as per the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), escalated when Itoo blamed the Peoples Democratic Party for the current political and administrative challenges in the Union Territory. “No power, no statehood is because of PDP,” she said.

Itoo also held the party responsible for the fallout following the abrogation of Article 370 and the governance issues that have since affected the region.

Taking a swipe at the opposition’s style of protest, the minister said her government believes in “action, not drama,” in an apparent reference to disruptions in the House.—(KNO)
