Extremist group behind the Lakhimpur incident: Ajay Mishra

Lakhimpur Kheri, Oct 4 (UNI) Alleging Sikh extremists group behind the yesterday’s violence near his residence, Union minister of state for home Ajay Mishra Teni.

” They were miscreants among the farmers hehind the violence. Since the beginning of the farmers’ agitation, many terror outfits including Babbar Khalsa were trying to create chaotic situation. This incident was a result of the same,” claims Ajay Mishra Teni .

He said 3 of his workers and a driver were killed and cars were set on fire in Lakhimpur Kheri. ”

We’re going to get FIR registered. We’ve video. Case u/s 302 to be registered against those involved and action will be taken,”the union minister said.

” We had this information that some farmers were peacefully protesting. Our route was diverted.

During the same time, some unruly elements hidden among farmers attacked BJP workers’ cars with lathis. We have a video of it,” claimed Ashish Mishra, son of the Union minister.

” I was at Banbirpur since 9 am till the end of the event. Allegations against me are completely baseless and I demand judicial inquiry of this matter and culprits should get punished,” Ashish further said.

He said some unruly elements attacked our workers, killed 4-5 of them.” I was in Banbirpur from 9 am till the end…I have not been at (incident) spot for the past 2 days…It could be that they don’t like me and using politics to implicate me,” he further alleged.

Meanwhile, District Magistrate A K Chaurasia on Monday morning said that farmers have given him a memorandum of demands.

“I’ve received a memorandum from farmers, demanding dismissal of MoS Home (AK Mishra), registration of FIR based on their complaint, payment of ex gratia and govt jobs to the family of the deceased. Besides a judicial probe into yesterday’s incident,” the DM said.

DM ssid ,”We will communicate demands of the farmers to higher authorities and hold talks with them again later today.”

Meanwhile , ADG (LO) Prashant Kumar , ACS Agriculture Devesh Chaturvedi along with IG Range and Commissioners were camping on the spot and situation is under control.

Adequate deployment has been done to prevent any untoward incident, UP police claimed.
