9/11 remembered as attack on humanity: PM Modi

New Delhi/Ahmedabad, Sep 11 (UNI) Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday said 9/11 date is remembered in history of the world as an attack on humanity.

“9/11 date is remembered in the history of the world as an attack on humanity…but the same date also taught us about humanitarian values,’ the Prime Minister said on the 20th anniversary of the attacks in the US.

He said, ‘September 11 is also important because Swami Vivekananda in 1893 delivered a speech in Chicago teaching the world about our humanitarian values.”

The Prime Minister, who virtually performed the Lokarpan of Sardardham Bhavan and Bhoomi Pujan of Sardardham Phase – II Kanya Chhatralaya in Ahmedabad, said the inauguration of Sardardham Bhavan has been done on an important date.

‘India is proud to be home to the world’s oldest language, Tamil. Today, on the 100th Punya Tithi of Subramania Bharati, I am honoured to announce the setting up of the Subramania Bharati Chair for Tamil studies at BHU, Kashi,’ he said.
