Over 1.91 cr Covid vaccine doses still available with states: Health Ministry

New Delhi, Jul 13 (UNI) More than 1.91 crore (1,91,55,630) balance and unutilized Covid-19 vaccine doses are still available with the states and Union Territories, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare said on Tuesday.

So far, the Centre has provided over 39.46 crore (39,46,94,020) vaccine doses to the states. Of this, the total consumption, including wastages is 37,55,38,390 doses, as per data available this morning.

As many as 12,00,000 more are in the pipeline, it added.

‘As part of the nationwide vaccination drive, Government of India has been supporting the States and UTs by providing them Covid vaccines free of cost. In the new phase of the universalization of the COVID19 vaccination drive, the Union Government will procure and supply (free of cost) 75% of the vaccines being produced by the vaccine manufacturers in the country to States and UTs,’ the Ministry said.

Meanwhile, India recorded 31,443 new Covid-19 cases during the past 24 hours, pushing the country’s caseload to 3,09,07,282, while the death toll soared to 4,10,784 with 2,020 more fatalities, as per the Ministry’s data.

On the vaccination front, 38,14,67,646 people have been administered Covid-19 vaccines, with 40,65,862 being inoculated in the past 24 hours.
