2 killed another injured as speedy tipper rams bike in Baramulla

Baramulla, Jun 17: A biker and his pillion rider were killed even as a third person accompanying them was injured after a over-speeding tipper rammed into a two-wheeler from behind along highway in Dangiwacha in Rafiabad area north Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Thursday morning, officials said.

They said that a speedy tipper hit a bike bearing registration number JK-05C 8935 at Tragpora crossing. In the incident, the biker Mohammad Yousuf Dar son of Ghulam Ahmad Dar of Gulshan Abad Reban Sopore died instantly, besides injuries to two of his pillion riders namely Adil Hussain Gazi son of Ghulam Nabi Gazi of Malpora Reban Sopore and Shahid Yousaf Dar son of Mohammad Yousaf Dar of Gulshan Abad Reban Sopore, they told GNS.

The two injured were immediately evacuated to GMC Baramulla, where one Adil Hussain Gazi was declared as brought dead on arrival by the doctors there, they said adding that the third person is undergoing treatment and nothing much can be said about him as of now.

Meanwhile a police official concerned told GNS that soon after the incident, accused driver abandoned the tipper at the spot and fled without informing anyone or helping the victims. “A hunt has been launched to nab him and we are hopeful that he soon will be behind the bars”, the official said.

An FIR number 118/2021 under sections 279,302 IPC has been registered in this regard for further proceedings, the official added.
