Sensex marginally weak by 36 pts

Mumbai, May 20 : The BSE Sensex on Thursday declined by 36 pts at 49,866.36 in opening trade as selling was seen in Materials, Energy, Finance and Health Care stocks.

The Nifty too eased by 29.40 pts to 15,000.75.

The Sensex registered intra days high and low at 50,099.17 and 49,781.48 pts respectively.

The Nifty registered intra days high and low at 15,069.80 and 14,960.50 respectively.

The Mid Cap fell by 0.09 pc while Small Cap rose by 0.09 pc.

In 30 scrips 11 advanced while 19 declined.

The losers were ONGC by 2.52 pc to Rs 112, Sun Pharma by 1.34 pc to Rs 694, Axis Bank by 1.01 pc to Rs 709.45, Bajaj finance by 0.79 pc to Rs 5585.85 and Kotak Bank by 0.74 pc to Rs 1717.90.

The gainers were Titan by 2.43 pc to Rs 1558.80, M& M by 1.59 pc to Rs 797.10, L& T by 0.82 pc to Rs 1415, ICICI Bank by 0.74 pc to Rs 629.85 and Asian Paints by 0.74 pc to Rs 2837.60.
