India reports 2,63,533 new nCoV cases, 4,329 deaths

New Delhi, May 18 : India’s daily COVID-19 tally was below the three-lakh mark for the second day in a row, as it recorded 2,63,533 new cases in the past 24 hours, taking the total number of infections in the country to 2,52,28,996, the Union Health Ministry update showed on Tuesday.

However, the death toll saw record 4,329 deaths in a day, pushing the toll to 2,78,719.

On a positive front, 4,22,436 people also recovered from the virus, taking the total number of such cases to 2,15,96,512.

On Monday, the country had recorded 2,81,386 new Covid-19 cases and 4,106 deaths.
