Berlin,Mar 23; Chancellor Angela Merkel announced on Tuesday that Germany will be extending its coronavirus restrictions until April 18 and impose a much stricter lockdown for five days over the Easter weekend in a bid to contain the spread of COVID cases.

A partial lockdown is already in place across the country, which have already closed cultural, leisure and sporting facilities across the country, will be made much tougher for the Easter holidays between April 1 and 5.
