New Delhi, Mar 22:  The domestic prices of petrol and diesel remained stable for the 23rd consecutive day, here on Monday.

In the foreign markets the price of crude oil witnessed a sharp rise on Friday.

In the national capital Delhi the price of petrol is currently Rs 91.17 and diesel Rs 81.47 per liter. On February 27, the prices of petrol and diesel rose by 24 paise and 15 paise respectively, taking the domestic fuel prices to record high.

According to the domestic oil marketing company Indian Oil Corporation(OIC) the prices of both petrol and diesel have remained stable on Monday.

According to experts the main reason why prices of petrol and diesel have remained stable for nearly a month is because of the upcoming Assembly elections in four states and one UT.
