Cong demands spl arrangements for disabled students in edu institutions

New Delhi, Mar 18:  The Congress in Rajya Sabha on Thursday demanded special arrangements for differently abled students in education institutions.

Raising this issue during the ‘Special Mention’, Dr Amme Yajnik said that the differently abled need special arrangements for their movement in the education institutions and independent functioning as well.

“Colleges and other educational institutions should ensure that facilities like ramps, class rooms and special toilets are available for them”, Ms Yajnik said, adding that the Government should help these institutions financially for the same.

Mentioning the case of visually challenged students, she said that certain categorized arrangements such as special computers should be made for them.
