BJP MP Ram Swaroop Sharma found dead at Delhi residence

New Delhi, Mar 17 : Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP from Himachal Pradesh Ram Swaroop Sharma was found dead at his North Avenue residence here on Wednesday, police said. He was 63.

According to police, a call was received from one of his staff members following which a team was rushed to his residence.

“The door was closed from inside. The MP was found hanging,” police said, adding that no suicide note was immediately recovered from the spot.

Sharma was immediately rushed to a hospital by the team but doctors declared him brought dead.

“It looks like a case of suicide, but we are continuing to probe. We’ll know better once we have the autopsy report and have questioned people,” Chinmoy Biswal, Delhi Police spokesperson, said.
