Drug peddler held, heroin like substance recovered in north Kashmir

Baramulla, Mar 6: Jammu and Kashmir police arrested a drug peddler and recovered heroin like substance in border area of Uri in this north Kashmir district, a police spokesman said.
He said a police naka was established on Gowhallan and Sangana road in Uri in Baramulla district. However, during the naka one suspected person tried to escape after noticing the police party.
Naka police party chased and apprehended him, he said, adding during his search one packet of heroin like substance was recovered from him.
The accused was identified Mohammad Altaf son of Abdul Hamid, resident of Gowhallan.
He said in this regard Case under NDPS Act stands registered in Police Station Uri and further investigation taken up.
