BJP pays tributes to Army colonel among four others killed in Handwara encounter

Srinagar, May 03: BJP Kashmir unit on Sunday paid rich tributes to a colonel, major, and two jawans of the Indian Army along with a sub-inspector of J&K police killed in Chanjmulla encounter in north Kashmir’s Handwara area.

Party’s Media-Incharge, Manzoor Bhat in a statement said termed the Handwara incident as painful and said that our security forces have laid their lives to safeguard the nation from enemies who want to disturb the peaceful atmosphere in J&K.

While paying rich tributes to Commanding Officer of 21 Rashtriya Rifles (RR) unit, Colonel Ashutosh Sharma, Major Anuj Sood, Naik Rajesh, Lance Naik Dinesh and SI of J&K Police Muhammad Sagir Qazi, Bhat said there scarifies will be remembered always.

“We express our sympathies with the bereaved families of the brave hearts at this crucial juncture and pray for their eternal,” he said.

Bhat said party’s Kashmir unit salutes their bravery & valour of our soldiers and stated that God should grant strength to their families in this time of grief.

He said during the month holy Ramdhan, such incidents are unacceptable.

“Peace is the only way to forward and violence has no link with the religion,” Bhat said.

As per him, the entire country is battling the fight against coronavirus, our security forces have been constantly fighting against the war against the enemies of the nation.

“The party stands in solidarity with the bereaved families and remains committed to their dignity and well-being,” he said.
