Rajya Sabha adjourned till 1400hrs amid Opposition uproar on various issues

New Delhi,: Proceedings of the Rajya Sabha were adjourned till 1400 hrs on Wednesday following Opposition’s uproar over various issues.
Soon after the laying of the papers, Chairman M Venkaiah Naidu informed the House that as the Lok Sabha would be discussing the Delhi violence issue today, the Upper House will take it up on Thursday which will be followed by Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s reply.
Mr Naidu then initiated the Zero Hour, when a large number of the Opposition Members stood on their seats and started raising slogans.
While Aam Admi Party (AAP) Member Sanjay Singh wanted to discuss the the Yes Bank issue, another Opposition Member brought up the matter of the ban on two media houses in India, to which Mr Naidu replied that as the gag has been lifted, the comments will not go on record.
As the Opposition Members continued with sloganeering, the Chair adjourned the House till 1400 hrs.
Earlier, Mr Naidu informed that Samajwadi Party Member Beni Prasad Verma has requested for leave till the end of the session due to his ill health, the House approved his request.
The Budget Session of the Parliament of resumed on Wednesday after Holi break.
