Shutter of Aruvikkara dam opened due to heavy rains

Thiruvananthapuram, : One of the shutters of Aruvikkara dam in this district was opened on late Monday night due to heavy rains after the set-in of Monsoon in Kerala.
The shutter has been opened after the water level touched 46.50 ft following the heavy rains, according to sources of water authority department here.
The people residing on the banks of Karamana river are being warned of rising water level, sources added.
The prediction of rains in the next 24 hours over Kerala is also a cause of concern.
