Modi assures constitutional protection to customs, beliefs in Sabarimala

Thiruvananthapuram, Apr 19  : Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who addressed a ‘Vijay Sankalp’ rally here on Thursday evening, said “if BJP comes to power, steps will be taken to provide constitutional protection to customs and beliefs.”
“After counting the votes on May 23, we will fight in the court and the Parliament to ensure protection for customs and traditions,” Modi said while mentioning the controversial Sabarimala issue.
Alleging that those who chant Ayyappa name are being lathi charged and framed in fake cases, Modi said each and every child in the State will come forward to revenge against these injustice and guard the customs and traditions.
Referring Congress President Rahul Gandhi’s candidature from Wayanad seat in Kerala, he said “if you want to give a message in south India, why are you not contesting from Thiruvananthapuram or Pathanamthitta ?”
The people in Kerala can find what kind of development you brought to Amethi. The people could get such details after browsing internet as it is cheaper now, he added.
In a scathing attack on the Communist Government in Kerala, Modi, who also referred Lavalin case in which Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan is facing trial, said several ministers are facing serious corruption charges in the State.
