Sri Lankan Prez offers prayers at hill shrine

Tirumala, Apr 17  : Sri Lankan President Maithripala Sirisena along with his family and entourage, offered prayers in the hill shrine of Lord Venkateswara here on Wednesday.
The top brass foreign dignitary was accorded warm welcome by TTD Executive Officer Anil Kumar Singhal and Tirumala JEO KS Sreenivasa Raju on his arrival at Maha Dwaram-the main entrance of the temple.
Later, the President offered prayers to the presiding deity of Lord Venkateswara in the sanctum sanctorum during the VIP break darshanam.

The temple priests explained him about the significance of the deity and various embellishments adorned to the mula virat.

The Lankan Prez also offered prayers in the sub-shrines including Vakulamata temple, Bhashyakarulavari sannidhi, Yoganarasimha Swamy.

At Ranganayakula mandapam, he was offered Vedadirvachanam by vedic pundits.

Later TTD EO presented him the theerthaprasadams and laminated photo of Lord.
Srilankan Embassy Deputy High Commissioner krishnamurthy, protocol Additional Secretary Lt Col Ashok Babu, temple DyEO Harindranath and others were also present.
