After 5 Hours Suspension, One-way traffic Resumed on Srinagar-Jammu highway

Banihal : Due to accumulation of four to five inches of snow on both sides of Jawahar Tunnel and traffic on Srinagar-Jammu highway was suspended for about five hours on Thursday, it was resumed for one-way traffic.

An official of the Border Roads Organization stationed at the tunnel said that efforts were being made to make the highway passable two-way traffic and it would be made two-way traffic by the afternoon.

On Thursday, vehicles are scheduled to travel on the highway from Jammu to Srinagar.

It is pertinent to mention that in view of the fresh snowfall, the authorities on Thursday suspended the vehicular movement along the Srinagar-Jammu highway as a precautionary measure.

They authorities had assured that the commuters will be allowed to proceed towards their destination only after the road is cleared following improvement in weather conditions
