Two senior journalists bereaved, athletic coach passes away in Kashmir

Srinagar, Jan 30 (UNI) Two senior journalists were bereaved while athletic coach and manager Indoor Stadium died in the Kashmir valley since Friday evening.
Senior journalist and NDTV’s Kashmir Bureau Chief Nazir Masoodi’s mother died on Friday evening while Kashmir Life Editor-in-Chief Masood Hussain Wani’s father breathed his last in a hospital on Saturday morning.
Former chief minister and National Conference (NC) vice-president Omar Abdullah in a tweet said, “Very sorry to hear about the tragic demise of @nazir_masoodi’s mother. May Allah grant her place in Jannat & may Nazir & the rest of her family find strength at this difficult time”.
Meanwhile, Apni Party(AP) president Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari have expressed heartfelt condolence and expressed solidarity with Masoodi and Wani families.
Mr Masoodi’s mother was admitted to S K Institute of Medical Sciences (SKIMS) where she breathed her last on Friday evening after a brief illness.
Mr Bukhari on Saturday expressed deep shock and grief over the demise of the mother of NDTV’s Nazir Masoodi.
He conveyed his heartfelt condolences and expressed solidarity with the bereaved family. “I pray to Allah Almighty to bestow peace to the deceased and give courage to the bereaved family members, relatives, friends and acquaintances of Mr Nazir Masoodi to bear this irreparable loss,” he observed.
Meanwhile, father of senior journalist and Editor in chief ‘Kashmir Life’ magazine Masood Hussain passed away on Saturday morning.
A resident of Gehend, Shopian, Gull Hassan Wani was unwell for sometime and was admitted in SKIMS on Wednesday where he breathed his last this morning.
Meanwhile, Kashmir Editors Guild (KEG), of which Masood is Secretary General, too has condoled the demise.
In a condolence message KEG expressed grief over Mr Wani’s demise.
“A highly revered person Gull Hassan Wani was a noble soul. He will be laid to rest at his ancestral graveyard at Gehend today,” said KEG in a brief statement.

AP Bukhari conveyed heartfelt condolences on the demise of Ghulam Hassan Wani, father of senior journalist and Editor-in-Chief of Kashmir Life.
Expressing solidarity with the bereaved family, Bukhari prayed for eternal peace to the departed soul. “I pray to Almighty Allah to give endurance to the bereaved family members, relatives, friends and acquaintances of Mr Masood Hussain to bear this irreparable loss,” he observed.

Meanwhile, Manager Indoor Stadium, Srinagar, Sheikh Tulal died last night. The only athletic coach Tulal is survived by his wife and son. He was laid to rest at Zaldagar in the down town Srinagar today.
