Temp falls to 3.8 degrees C in Delhi

New Delhi, Dec 18 (UNI) The National capital continued to witness cold weather conditions with minimum temperature on Friday morning dropping to 3.8 degrees Celsius, three notches below the season’s average, according to the Indian Meteorological Department.

With the cold wave like conditions across the city, relative humidity at around 0830 hrs was pegged at 83 per cent.

People, especially the homeless, were seen taking to the corners of streets trying to battle cold with make shift bonfire arrangements.

Although , the sky is likely to be clear during the day, but, the maximum temperature as forecast by the weatherman is to hover around 17 degrees C, and drop further towards the evening.

Meanwhile, the city’s air quality deteriorated to ‘very poor’ category as the average Air Quality Index(AQI) at around 1000 hrs was measured at 301 , making it more tough for the Delhiites amid already harsh weather.

The MET department has forecast similar cold weather conditions for Saturday, with minimum and maximum temperatures likely to settle around 5 and 17 degrees C respectively.

On Thursday , the maximum temperature was recorded at 15.8 degrees C ,which was five points below the normal.
