Gulmarg, Pahalgam Record Sub-Zero Night Temperatures

Srinagar, Nov 26 (GNS): Gulmarg and Pahalgam, the famous tourist resorts in the north and south Kashmir respectively, recorded sub-zero temperatures during the night, the weatherman said on Thursday.

However, most places in the Valley recorded minimum temperatures above the normal for this time of the year.

A meteorological department official told GNS that mercury settled at 2.0 degrees Celsius at Srinagar against the normal temperature of 0.1 degrees Celsius.

Regarding other places, the officials said that Qazigund recorded 2.0°C (2°C Above Normal), Pahalgam minus 0.7°C (1.7°C AN), Kupwara 0.2°C (0.7°C AN), Kokernag 1.1°C (0.6°C AN) and Gulmarg minus 3.5°C (1°C BN).

The weatherman has forecast mainly dry weather over the plains of J&K and Ladakh till at last December 2. For higher reaches of J&K, the weatherman has predicted “isolated very light rain /snow” in the next 24 hours. (GNS)
