BJP trying to stop PAGD candidates from contesting DDC elections: Mufazar Shah

Srinagar: Awami National Conference (ANC) Vice President Wednesday accused BJP of trying hard to stop Peoples Alliance for Gupkar Declaration candidates from contesting the elections. He alleged that one of the Returning Officers in Khonomh Constituency tried to reject its candidate’s form, which was already accepted earlier by the same Returning Officer.

“It is a conspiracy and BJP is trying hard to stop PAGD candidates from contesting the elections,” he said.

Divulging information about the incident, Shah as per KNT said that the nomination form of his candidate Reyaz Ahmed Mir was first accepted then the Returning Officer tried to reject the same form, but his candidate snatched the form from the Returning Officer who probably supports BJP candidate.

“I have filed the complaint before the District Development Commissioner and he will take a final call on this issue,” Muzafar Shah said while displaying the documents.

Shah alleged all what has happened today was because of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) as the ROs and others are hand-in-glove with the party.

Shah said that BJP leader Amit Shah has already conceded defeat. “I appeal all the candidates of PAGD to be careful and thoroughly check the papers before the Returning Officers,” he said.

PAGD leader Javaid Mustafa Mir who was present in the press conference said that trying to reject the candidates form is a big question mark on the credibility of Election Commission. He demanded strict action against the Returning Officer in question. (KNT)
