BJP steps up attack against Rahul for ‘dealings’ with scam-tainted Unitech

New Delhi, Apr 2 :  The BJP on Tuesday alleged that during the stint of UPA regime, Congress President Rahul Gandhi had deals with “promoters of Unitech, who were then embroiled in 2G scam” and the matter deserves to be taken in earnestness by the CBI and the Enforcement Directorate.
“With the latest expose, the government should ask the CBI and ED and once CBI files FIR, automatically it becomes a money laundering case,” senior BJP leader DR Subramanian Swamy said referring to television reports those claimed that Rahul Gandhi had dealings with one of the accused in the notorious 2G Scam and company Unitech.
Dr Swamy also said Unitech was not in telecom business but it still got the benefits of the then government’s policy of ‘first come, first serve’ policy.
BJP IT cell chief Amit Malviya tweeted: “Rahul Gandhi was cutting deals with promoters of Unitech, who were then embroiled in 2G scam, and made crores when they were under scrutiny. Did these scamsters buy peace with Congress government by paying Rahul Gandhi?”
“This is a political equity scam of monumental proportions…,” he wrote.
Dr Swamy also took a dig at Mr Rahul Gandhi for his ‘Chowkidar chor hae’ allegation against Prime Minister Narendra Modi and said instead what has come to light is ‘parivar chor hae (the family is corrupt)’.
