Road Accident Leaves Four from Uttar Pradesh Injured on Srinagar – Jammu Highway

Anantnag, April 4,: Four persons were injured in a road accident at Sangam Crossing along the Jammu–Srinagar National Highway in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Saturday, officials said.

The accident occurred at the busy Sangam junction on NH-44, a key arterial route connecting the Kashmir Valley with the rest of the country.

The injured persons, all reportedly residents of Uttar Pradesh, were shifted to Sub District Hospital Bijbehara for treatment soon after the incident, officials said.

Hospital sources said the injured were receiving treatment, though the extent of their injuries was not immediately known.

Police have taken cognizance of the incident, and further details regarding the cause of the accident are awaited.

Local authorities said traffic movement was briefly affected following the crash before being restored. [KNT]
