Painter Dies After Fall From Height in Budgam While Painting House

Budgam, April 4,: A 45-year-old painter who was critically injured after falling from a height while working at a residential house in Budgam district has died at a hospital in Srinagar, officials said on Saturday.

The deceased has been identified as Bashir Ahmad Dhobi, a resident of Ichgam in central Kashmir’s Budgam district. He had been admitted to SMHS Hospital in Srinagar after sustaining multiple injuries in the accident on April 2.

The incident occurred in the Peer Bagh area, where Dhobi was engaged in painting work at the residence of one Nazir Ahmad, when he fell from height during work, according to statements provided by his attendants.

Hospital officials confirmed that the injured worker had been in critical condition since admission and succumbed to his injuries on Saturday despite medical treatment.

“He had suffered multiple injuries and was in a critical state since being brought in,” a hospital official said, adding that doctors made efforts to stabilize him.

Police have taken note of the incident, and further proceedings are expected as per standard protocol in such cases. [KNT]
