Kishtwar fire tragedy: MLA Shagun Parihar urges compensation and rehabilitation

Kishtwar: MLA Kishtwar Shagun Parihar has expressed deep anguish over the devastating fire incident that struck the village Thechna in the Dachhan area of Kishtwar, causing extensive loss to property and severe distress among the local community.

The MLA said she was deeply anguished to learn about the incident and extended solidarity with the affected families. She commended the bravery, dedication and relentless efforts of local civilians, police personnel and the troops of the Rashtriya Rifles, who, she said, were working tirelessly in extremely challenging conditions to bring the blaze under control and ensure the safety of lives.

Shagun Parihar said she has urged the district administration and elected representatives to take swift and effective measures to provide immediate relief, rehabilitation and all necessary assistance to the affected families. She stressed that adequate compensation, temporary shelter and essential supplies must be ensured without any delay for those who have suffered losses in the fire.

The MLA said that in this hour of profound grief, her thoughts, prayers and unwavering solidarity are with all the families impacted by the tragic incident. She reaffirmed her support to the people of Thechna and expressed hope that with collective resolve and support, the community would overcome this difficult time. [KNT]
